It is worth making a detour to the alp of the same name before visiting the hot air balloon exhibition in Château d'Œx and admiring the museum's collection of silhouette cuttings, or scissor cuttings.

Walenpfad: The Swiss Cableway Experience Trail

This density is unique - nowhere else in Switzerland are there as many cable railways in such a small space as in central Switzerland. About a hundred of them transport passengers comfortably up to the most beautiful hiking areas. At the start of the four-hour Walen Trail the new cabin carries up to 15 passengers at a time to the Bannalp, and at the end there is the exclusive open panorama cabin to Engelberg.

Here is a chance for unique mountain adventures and mountain railway experiences - the Walen Trail is a sophisticated pleasure tour with panoramic views.

The Toggenburg Sound Trail

While hiking the sound path in Toggenburg, visitors of all age groups can experience “how stone sounds“, or feel, how a tree transports sounds, or try out 25 different instruments.

Young and old alike can learn what rocks sound like, how a tree conveys sounds and how a wall of metal flutes makes music of its own accord – walkers can play unusual instruments and compose their own music here. The stages can be covered individually in a few hours, or consecutively in a day.
