Sentiero Verzasca: The Swiss White Water Trail

The shimmering green river winds its way picturesquely through the primordial Verzasca Valley, spanned by elegantly arched Roman bridges. Together with the little grotti this makes for a picture perfect Ticino setting. Between Sonogno and Lavertezzo the mountain and valley trail becomes a cultural trail, and as the "Sentiero per l'arte" (the Art Trail) takes the traveller in four hours past works by internationally renowned artists.

An emerald green river, a spruced up little village, the ruggedly picturesque landscape - the Verzasca Valley is a real Ticino gem.

Through the Areuse Gorge

Wherever the waters of the Jura tried to carve their way through the pleats of the Jura, gorges were created. And so it is with the Gorges de l'Areuse.

Wherever the waters of the Jura tried to carve their way from the Jura folds into the Mittelland, deep gorges were carved out. The Areuse stream thunders through one of these gorges. This sometimes challenging trail affords plunging views into the natural spectacle. Even on hot summer days, a cool breeze blows.
