Located in a former inn and storehouse dating from 1537, nature lovers value the neighbouring national park in the summer, while during the winter months the hostel is an ideal base for snow tours.
The youth hostel is located at the edge of the town, in a former quarry. The River Birs flows nearby, the forest and the nature reserve are close at hand.
The castle was originally built in the 13th century. To this day, it offers unique views across the castle-strewn Domleschg countryside.
