Niesen – viewing pyramid

The 2,362 high Niesen Mountain at Lake Thun is striking because it is nearly perfectly shaped like a pyramid. The steep slopes are not climbed on foot, but are traversed by cable car. The world's longest staircase was built to parallel the course of the cable car, so that maintenance work can be carried out on the cable car when needed.

The two funicular railways with their four carriages have been transporting guests to the top of the1643m pyramid-shaped mountain since over a century. It takes just 30 mins to get to the top today.

Hannigalp – fairytale land

The Hannigalpbahn will take you up to 2114 metres in just 8 minutes.

From this family-friendly location the gondola railway climbs 500 meters high through the coniferous forest to the Hannigalp – and kids of course delight in the 10 gondolas clad fairy-tale fashion.

Silleren / Hahnenmoos – Wonderland

Those are views! The Adelboden - Sillerenbühl cable railway gives you an all round view of the mountain and valley world from the 1974-metre high mountaintop.

The pass region between Adelboden and Lenk has long been used as a passageway for horses and horse-drawn carriages, a first hotel was constructed in 1905, and starting in winter 1936 a so-called Funi-sled made its way through the pass.

Croix de Culet – Planachaux

In 1939, the first cable car between Champéry and Planachaux was built by "Téléphérique Champéry-Planachaux AG", and it was not replaced until 1987 by a new construction.

The Champéry resort lies at the far end of the romantic Val d'Illiez valley – from where already long ago a cableway made its way direction Croix de Culet, at 927 meters above the village.
