Erosion has created an immense, pale yellow rock basin that is growing larger every year. It is well worth admiring this phenomenon of nature. The circular route follows the (mostly dry) bed of the Wildbach to the Bhutan Bridge and the Güetji viewing pulpit. Return to Susten along the other side of the trench.
The alpine route connecting Braunwald to Lake Oberblegi and down to Schwanden leads hikers through the weird rock formations of the moranes of the Glaernisch Range. Indeed, the deep-blue lake itself was created by moranes that dammed the melting waters. Rushing mountain streams and beautiful alpine flowers round off the picture.
On stony paths through the land of the cheese barons - the hike from La Videmanette with its panoramic views high above Rougemont down to Château d'Œx runs along the border of La Pierreuse Nature Reserve.
