The Eastern Switzerland Tour starts in Kreuzlingen, at the western end of Lake Constance. It skirts the lake up to St. Margrethen and then travels upwards to Heiden, Trogen and over the Ruppen Pass to Altstätten. On the Ruppen a restaurant beckons to tarry awhile and enjoy a repast.
The South-North Tour starts in Mendriso and takes bikers in two day-stages to Basel. The first stage takes you from Mendriso via Lugano and Bellinzona to the Gotthard, and via the Furka, Grimsel and Susten passes to Altdorf.
The second part of the South-North Tour begins in the Urner Reuss Valley (Altdorf) and ends in Basel. The Tour leads first across the Klausen Pass to Glarus. The Klausen Pass Road was first built in 1948; its highest elevation is 1948 meters.
Innertkirchen near the resort town of Meiringen is the starting point of two impressive pass roads: A well-built road runs southward to the Grimsel Pass – the return ride is accomplished via the Susten Pass.
