Jaunbach gorge

A real insiders' tip! New territory waits to be explored on the diverse three hour hike between Charmey with its spa baths and Gruyeres with its castle, historic city centre and cheese factory. As part of the Alpine Panorama Trail from SwitzerlandMobility, this trail runs through the dream landscapes of the future nature reserve of Gruyere Pays-d'Enhaut, past the coves of the artificial lake Lac de Motsalvens and through the spectacular Jaunbach Gorge.

Hike along Lake Montsalvans and through the Jaunbach gorge. Walkers cross the Saane plain and follow mystic pathways to Greyerz (Gruyères) Castle, recognisable from afar. Temptations abound, with heavenly chocolate at Maison Cailler in Broc and legendary cheese in Gruyères (Pringy).

Alp Flix circular hike

The hiking circuit from Sur to the idyllic moorland lakes, Lake Neir and Lake Blos, leading past the Alpine settlements of Cuorts and Tigias reveals the extraordinary beauty of this natural "treasure chest", a unique nature paradise and cultural landscape.

Sweeping moorland and pine forests are the features of the Alp Flix area. Hikers love the charm of this Alpine meadowland, with its clear streams and colourful flowers. The circular hike to the Alpine meadow and the idyllic moorland lakes showcases the beauty of the Alp Flix's treasure trove of diversity. Parking area some distance below the moorland plain.

Aletsch Panoramaweg: The Swiss Glacier Trail

Europe's longest glacier is not listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for no reason. The landscape through which this four-hour hike from Bettmerhorn mountain station runs is spectacular. Flagstones make the mountain trail easily accessible and on a panoramic level high above the Aletsch Glacier it leads towards the magical Lake Märjelen.

Flanked by 32 4,000-meter peaks and only a few minutes from the Bettmerhorn mountain station, a spectacular experience is in store: the Great Aletsch Glacier. The route follows mountain paths down to the Rote Chumma and into the basin of the Märjelen lakes. The Fiescheralp is reached by rounding the Tälli ridge or through the pedestrian tunnel to shorten the distance.

Valley hike in the Schanfigg
