The challenging mountain tour leads all around Mittaghorn mountain and around Egginer. You will hike right through huge screes strewn with boulders and debris left behind when a glacier melted, alpine meadows and even an actual glacier. At 3,000 meters, Brittania hut is the highest point of the route. The views of the Saas mountain world are simply stunning. Fourthousand meter giants as far as the eye can reach.
The "Trans Swiss Trail" is the first long distance hiking trail fully developed for tourism which traverses Switzerland from North to South. The section through the Emmental valley does not lead across high mountains, but through a landscape with gently rolling hills, magnificent farms and flower-bedecked meadows.
