Comfortably, and running according to a scheduled timetable, the Üetlibergbahn railway takes summiteers to Zurich's 871 metre high local mountain. The alpine hike that follows is equally suited for families. And on Felsenegg the gondola lift waits to take you down to Adliswil, where the S-Bahn runs back to Zurich.
This walk starts in the heart of Geneva, passing through a particularly charming corner of the city on its way to the Rhone and out into the countryside. For long stretches it follows the river bank, which is home to over seventy animal species and is one of the best protected areas in Switzerland.
On the old mule track from the Grimsel Pass to Handegg you walk through history - and the world of the Kraftwerke Oberhasli power company. Here they not only produce electricity but also memorable moments – many facilities are accessible, from the dam above the access tunnel to the works railway.
