Plateau de Diesse – Tessenberg

The high plateau between the Bielersee lake and Chasseral, at around 800m altitude, has been connected though a funicular railway from Ligerz to Prêles since over a century.

Water Tower

The Baldegg water tower is both a water reservoir and an observation tower. A spiral staircase with 181 steps leads up to the viewing platform which offers a 360-degree panoramic view across the Mittelland region to the Black Forest and from Mt. Säntis to the Jungfrau in the Bernese Oberland.

Planplatten – Alpen Tower

In the summer of 1998, a state-of-the-art gondola replaced the 2-seater chairlift Mägisalp – Planplatten, which dates back to Gründerzeit at the end of the 19th century. A year later the construction began on the panoramic restaurant Alpen Tower.

The Sustenhorn, Grimsel region and Finsteraarhorn on the one side, with Lake Brienz, the Rothorn and Jura in the far distance on the other. A beautiful vantage point to the east of the Bernese Oberland.

Eggberge – above the Reuss Valley

When the weather report predicts “Mist in the valley”, one best escapes the greyness on the sun-drenched terrace of Eggberge.

When the weather forecast threatens with “gray down under and blue on top“ – this is the place to avoid the fog. 1000 meters above the Urnersee lake, with views as far as the Gotthard region.
