Braunwald is a family-friendly summer and winter holiday resort on a sunny terrace in the Glarus hinterland. The panoramic view to the south is dominated by the glaciated peak of the Tödi.

The historic Water Route

Scorched by the sun and difficult to access, the steep Valais hillsides are often watered using the so-called "suonen", or irrigation channels. Dug into the ground, hanging from rocks or carved from them, they are a constant reminder of the farmers' struggle against drought. Today, picturesque hiking trails follow these historic water channels.

A hundred kilometers of hiking trails follow the historic water channels ("bisses") around the sun-drenched resort of Nendaz. This route starts from the village centre and continues along the "Bisse du Milieu" (Middle Channel) to Planchouet, with its water catchments. Return to the village via the "Bisse Vieux" (Old Channel).

Lenzerheide

Formerly a mere transit location between Chur and Tiefencastel, Lenzerheide, located at an altitude of 1500 metres above sea level in a high valley, has been a popular winter and summer health resort for families and sports enthusiasts for some time now. The two winter sports regions of Stätzerhorn and Parpan Rothorn, one on each side of the valley, cater for winter sports enthusiasts of all ages.

The idyllic, park-like countryside of the high valley of Lenzerheide provides the perfect setting for experience-packed and relaxing holidays. In winter a varied ski region awaits winter sports enthusiasts on both sides of the valley.
