Round and round it goes, the "Rotair" revolving aerial cable car, which brings visitors from midstation Stand to the Klein Titile (3020 m.a.s.l.).
Close to the Italian border, in Switzerland's southernmost corner, you will find Mendrisiotto. Most people know this region only from passing through it. Industrial buildings line the thunderous Autobahn. Gently rolling hills, partly wooded, partly dotted with vineyards, extend a few kilometers westward.
Misused as the motif for countless countryside calendars, famous due to thousands of films, emblems and Swiss stickers and labels, but despite or perhaps because of all of this, the Matterhorn continues to remain the archetypal mountain. Actually seeing the world-famous pyramid of rock in front of you is always a fascinating experience.
