Museum zu Allerheiligen
The Museum zu Allerheiligen (All Saints’ Museum) is one of the popular sights of Schaffhausen. It combines archaeology, history and art as well as natural history, under one roof and displays both large permanent exhibitions and six to eight special exhibitions every year. The permanent exhibition "Schaffhausen im Fluss", where the history of the town and region can be experienced first-hand, was newly opened in 2008.A large part of the museum is located within the original Benedictine Abbey Allerheiligen. Just like the former monastery, the museum is a place of knowledge, culture and encounter. Location and architecture, that convey the 1000 years of building history, are a significant part of the content of the museum. Belonging to the entire complex is also the imposing Minster, the idyllic herb garden and the largest freely accessible cloister of Switzerland. So a visit to the museum always takes place in a special atmosphere.
