The Swiss National Museum

City Museums – Here, culture and public transportation rub shoulders. The National Museum houses Switzerland's most comprehensive collection of artifacts pertaining to its cultural heritage. The over 100-year-old building is reminiscent of a fairytale castle. On 1st August, new permanent exhibitions will open on both floors. The upper floor houses an extensive exhibition relating to Swiss history while a range of collections is on display on the ground floor.

The National Museum houses the largest cultural and historical collection in the country. Behind its over 100-year-old walls, history comes to life as visitors gain an insight into how previous generations lived, thought and felt.

Augusta Raurica - The Roman City

Interactive muesums – The Romans bred woolly grazing pigs, occasionally called their horses "lecher" and sifted remnants of spices from their wine before drinking it. At least that's what they did in Augusta Raurica, the best-preserved Roman town north of the Alps.

Schatzalp Snow & Mountain Resort (Unique)

Geschichte unter den füssen – Voted Historic Hotel of Switzerland in 2008. Opened in 1900 as a luxury sanatorium, the architecture has been preserved in its original form.

This nostalgic Art Nouveau style building with its Belle Époque atmosphere, already described in Thomas Mann's book "Zauberberg" [Magic Mountain], opened its doors in 1900 as a luxury sanatorium and was later converted to a mountain hotel. The soul of the house, its architecture, has been preserved in its original form until today. The Villa Guarda - formerly the former doctor's residence - and the Chalet exude new splendour with their luxurious suites. With the Schatzalp train, the "Magic Mountain" is just four minutes away from the centre of Davos. Free WLAN access throughout the hotel premises, even in the Schatzalp/Strela skiing area.
