This inn is idyllically situated on the Rhine in the historic little bridge town of Eglisau. It was first mentioned as far back as 1523. In 2007 the Hirschen was reopened after four years of renovation. Seven rooms and suites with the atmosphere of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries, but with 21st century comfort. Gourmet restaurant with 1 Star Michelin and 17 Gault Millau points and bistro with a terrace overlooking the river.

Comprehensive room renovations respecting the existing building structures were carried out in 2005, supplemented with Swiss-type furniture. In 2008 the 12 renovated rooms with en-suite bathrooms in the annex, complemented with Vitra furniture, were opened. The Krafft cuisine is based on local and seasonal creations, served either in the restaurant overlooking the Rhine or on the terrace.
