Escorted hiking tour – Via Cook
Up until the 17th century, tourism was mainly the preserve of the nobility and of adventurers. Then industrialisation, rail travel and rationalisation ushered in a new era. Thomas Cook leveraged all these factors when it sold heavily discounted tickets for rail travel, which at that time was unaffordable for many. This heralded the advent of the package tour. We’ll retrace the course of these historical developments as we go from Grindelwald via Kandersteg and Leukerbad to Zermatt.
Our offer includes: Baumeler escort for your trip (German and English speaking), 7 nights in a double room incl. breakfast (2 nights Grindelwald, 2 nights Kandersteg, 1 night Leukerbad and 2 nights Zermatt), mountain rail and train travel on a half-fare basis, luggage transfer.
