The Museum of Natural History is among the most important museums in Switzerland. Over the past 60 years it has specialised in depicting animals in their natural habitats: with over 200 lifelike presentations of domestic and exotic birds and mammals, it houses one of the largest diorama collections in Europe. In the wing, the Animals as builders exhibition demonstrates the diversity and originality of the building skills of our animal counterparts. But the publics favorite remains Barry , the St. Bernard dog who saved over 40 lives on the Great St. Bernhard Pass and died in 1814.
