Intro

The Tremola is the king of the Alpine roads. From Airolo, the historic pass road snakes around hairpin bends up to the Gotthard.

Description

Its cobbles whisk drivers back to an age when stagecoaches plied this road. From the barren heights of Gotthard, the road descends through the lush green Urseren Valley to Realp, where the next hairpin bends present a challenge to drivers. The stretch up to the Furka has a truly cinematic backdrop and indeed it is a silver-screen legend – James Bond raced around the bends here in Goldfinger, as his rival showered him with bullets. The Grand Tour reaches its highest point at the Furka Pass, 2429 m above sea level.

An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
