The hike starts in the sun-kissed town of Fiesch at the foot of the famous Aletsch Glacier. The oldest part of the village with its typical sun-blackened Valaisian houses offers photo opportunities galore and invites visitors to stay awhile. Not too long though, because many other beautiful photo motifs await. On the well marked trail one walks through the picturesque villages of Martisberg, Betten, Goppisberg and Greich. Here, the origin of Valaisian mountain farming can be experienced up close. Buildings and idyllic village sections guarantee plenty of variety during the hike. The hiking tour concludes with a short descent to Morel, from where one can return to Fiesch by public transport.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
