Pischa
Overview
Intro
The Pischa tour at the entrance to the Flüela Valley is one of the most beautiful and popular mountain bike routes in Davos. It consists almost exclusively of single trails, including the ascent, with a bumpy but easily flowing descent.
Description
The actual start of the tour is at the bottom of the Flüela Valley on the outskirts of Davos. Instead of taking the heavily used road up the mountain pass, you continue on a well-maintained single trail on the other side of the valley. In Tschuggen you cross the street and directly behind the chapel the second part of the ascent begins. The path is steeper now, but if you’re well trained, you may not have to walk at all. Of course, if you do, you have more time to enjoy the views of Flüela, Weisshorn and Schwarzhorn. As the route climbs higher, it flattens out and finally turns into a mountain road leading to the Pischa gondola mountain station (operating only in winter). This is where the downhill run begins, initially a tricky, but enjoyable single trail along the ridge. The views range from the mountains of the Engadine to the Glarus Alps and far below in the valley you see the town of Davos.
The route turns right near a depression and continues through a sea of alpine roses. This section was developed especially for mountain bikers and offers the best kind of alpine mountain biking fun. A stop near the small lakes is mandatory. Nowhere else in Davos is the view of the Landwasser Valley and the Prättigau more beautiful than here. The single trail continues to Alp Drusatscha and the lake of Davos. There are some nice places to stop here. The local mountain bikers usually return to the starting point in the Flüela Valley and drink to a successful tour at Restaurant Färich.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
