Bern

Not many cities have managed to retain their historic features quite as successfully as Bern, the capital of Switzerland. The old town of Bern has been entered in the list of UNESCO Cultural World Heritage Sites and thanks to its 6 kilometres of arcades - the locals refer to them as 'Lauben' - boasts on of the longest weather-sheltered shopping promenades in Europe. Nyon

The little town of Nyon is situated on Lake Geneva, half way between Geneva and Lausanne, amid the vineyards of La Côte. Many excavations and sights from the times of the Celtic Helvetians and the Romans, and from the Middle Ages, bear witness to its eventful history. Nowadays the town is the starting place for many excursions into the area around Lake Geneva.

Lauterbrunnen

Lauterbrunnen lies in an impressive alpine trough valley between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. The Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland with 72 roaring waterfalls, including the Stabbach Falls, which plunge almost 300 metres from an overhanging rock face; secluded valleys; colourful alpine meadows; and lonely mountain inns.

Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland.
