Kunstmuseum Solothurn
Overview
Intro
Solothurn Fine Arts Museum boasts one of the most beautiful and high-calibre collections in Switzerland.
Its treasures range from the Late Middle Ages to the present day, and provide diverse insights into the development of Swiss art. Important paintings are exhibited from the major groups of works by Cuno Amiet and Ferdinand Hodler at presentations which change on a regular basis.
Key works of art by international painters such as Vincent van Gogh, Gustav Klimt and Henri Matisse complement the focus of the collection of Swiss modern art. Temporary exhibitions on art-historical topics and contemporary artists round off the programme.
The museum offers a diverse art education programme for children, young people and adults on the collection presentations and temporary exhibitions.
