With a width of 340 meters and a height of 180 meters above ground, the pedestrian suspension bridge over the Gummi Gorge is one of the many attractions of the Panorama Trail Lake Thun. It links the villages of Aeschlen and Sigriswil and has become the new school route for children, with access to the bus connection from Sigriswil.
The path to Oberhofen then passes through yet more lovely countryside with a breathtaking panoramic vista of the Bernese Alps above the deep blue lake.
The first stretch is almost level but then the route passes through the forest, down towards Oberhofen. We reach the first houses in the commune of Blooch and find our way to the bathing beach or Oberhofen Castle.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
