Deep below lies Lake Lugano with its many arms and lakeside mountains, and at the horizon stretches the white arc of the Alps, from Monte Rosa via the Bernese Mountains up to Bernina. To the south you can see the plains of the Po River and through the mist you may even espy the Cathedral of Milan and the Appenines.
There are countless leisure opportunities for all tastes. From simple walks along the 51 km of tracks to cave exploration, from mountain bike jaunts along a 27 km course to paragliding and from bird-watching to astronomy.
How to get there:
Drive or take public transportation from Lugano to Capolago, from there take the Monte Generoso mountain train to the top of Monte Generoso.
If you get a chance, don’t miss the sunset in Ticino. It’s a truly spectacular experience.
