Impressive data about the dam: 814,500 cubic meters of concrete, 148 meters high, 610 meters long, 34 meters wide (at the foundation), 77 million cubic meters of water and hundreds of meters of tunnel in concrete and in the rock.

It is not the most impressive of the Valaisan works but the panorama of the turquoise waters of the lake and the Moiry Glacier as seen from the path that leads to the summit of Sasseneire (3254 m) is arresting. The dam, like the glacier, are accessible by private car or postal bus.

The origins and the operation of the Moiry dam are explained on guided tours during the summer.
