Olivone, located on the pass, experienced its heyday in the High Middle Ages, when the Lukmanier Pass was an important arterial road and trade route. Stately mansions and wooden farmsteads with stone-built kitchens form the panorama of the village. The Ca da Rivöi Museum exhibits statues, paintings and artifacts from the valley’s religious life. The small dairy farm Caseificio Töira offers fresh dairy products.
The attractive Campo Blenio has eight kilometers of ski runs and is supremely suitable for families and snowboard novices. Winter hikers find a variety of walking and snowshoe paths, Nordic skiers prefer the cross-country trails extending over 30 kilometers in Campra, on the Lukmanier pass road. Besides group accommodation, the Nordic Center offers a restaurant as well as changing rooms, ski waxing service, a fitness room, an ice rink and a rental station for sports equipment.
Olivone - Switzerland. Can it really be that hard to find family????
