Description

The hike begins at Hotel "Alpenruhe". The "Alpenruhe" is reached by PostBus or car from Kien Valley (Kiental). Now follow the road up to Tschingel Lake. Here the Bear Path (Bärenpfad) leads to the Griesalp, which is topped by the “Golderli”mountain inn.

On the Griesalp the Wildwater Trail skirts the Gamchibach (Gamchi Stream) to Gries Gorge. The trail now meanders in loops along the gorge down to Lake Tschingel. The path crosses the roaring Pochten Falls and the Hexenkessel (“Witches Cauldron”), a deep bubbling pot.

In the winter, only surefooted persons should attempt this tour.
