The natural, unspoilt course of the stream, with its gorge-like sections and waterfalls, is part of the vast Gelten-Iffigen conservation area.

All the energy of the raging water gathers in a small hollow at the base of the Iffigfall, making the place just like an ion bath. The water becomes highly charged by the speed at which it rushes over the rocks and boulders and produces a really stimulating atmosphere.
That is probably one of the reasons why this rather hidden-away waterfall is so attractive to so many people. If you choose the right place and time, you're sure to see a rainbow.

Hiking tip:

Lenk - Iffigfall - Iffigenalp (2h30)
Go past the nature conservation area of the little Lake Lenk to the foot of the slope. Climb the steep, wooded slope to the Teufebode. The next 2.5 km along the valley of the rushing little Iffigbach are a delight for walkers, with no inclines. Then at the foot of the Iffigfall the path takes you right along the unspoilt course of the river to the Iffigenalp.
