The difference in altitude between the starting point near Boudry and the highest point at Le Soliat must be a good 1000 m. When you get to the top, though, you forget all about the effort of the climb in an instant, as a vast panorama extending from the Bernese Alps to the Savoy opens up before you. Far below is Lake Neuchâtel. On the other side, your gaze is drawn to the mighty ring of rocks forming the Creux du Van. In the background, the gentle hills of the Jura extend as far as the eye can see. When you've finished enjoying all these views, it's back down to business. A great long downhill section on a wonderful singletrail leads down to Gorgier.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
