Fuchses Schwyberg


The Freiburg Alps offer just about everything: ranging from simple round-tours to challenging mountain tours, to tricky trial passages. So off we go, on our way to the Schwarzsee ("Black Lake"). The valley basin formed by the Schwarzsee is only visible as a tiny dot on the map of Switzerland.

Anyone who has ridden a bike here will call it a veritalble Hot Spot for biking. The tour opportunities at the border of the languages are myriad. The described tour turns into a real biking hit after the relatively easy ascent.

Schwarzsee - Liechtena - Fuchses Schwyberg - Schwarzsee

From Gypsera bus-stop ride along the road in the direction of the lake. At the outlet of the river Sense turn right to follow the hiking trail to Plaffeien and Zollhaus. Bike up to the main road at Liechtena. Pass the bus-stop and take the next fork to the left, going uphill. Ascend to Hapferen Schweberg, then make a left, going downhill to the Alpine hut. Take the dirt road going up to Fuchses Schwyberg and make a right towards La Balisa. About 1 km below Schwyberg mountain follow the hiking trail to Schwarzsee at a fork in the path. At Bad Schwarzsee ride along the road back to Gypsera bus-stop.
