Parsenn
Overview
Intro
Thrilling single trails and demanding ascents, breezy views of Davos and Klosters and impressive panorama and mountain trails - the Parsenn tour has everything a biker could wish for.
Description
From Davos Platz the route heads in the direction of Davos Dorf along the valley road up to Hotel Cresta. Take a left here to start the ascent toward Schatzalp. At first, it’s all asphalt, then a wide gravel road. When you arrive at Thomas Mann‘s Magic Mountain, an increasingly steep carriageway – passable by bike in good condition, except for a few small sections – continues to the scenic and attractive Strela Pass.
This is where you take the panorama path, precipitous in part, which runs high above Davos with a view of Lake Davos, across some rocky passages to the ridge trail. Unexpectedly, this is a high alpine landscape and the vegetation is sparse. Via the ridge trail you reach the Parsenn Hut and then continue to Gotschnagrat, which belongs to Klosters. The terrace of the Gotschnagrat mountain inn with a view of the town of Klosters is a good place to stop for a while.
And then the dessert – in the form of a steep, challenging, but very enjoyable single trail down to Schwarzseealp. From there you continue over easy ups and downs just above the treeline to Gotschnaboden and the start of the famous freeride run “Bündner A-Line”. We, however, choose another interesting single trail, leading through the woods at first and then, after a short ascent, to Wolfgang Pass. From there, take the bike path via Lake Davos back to Davos for a leisurely end of the tour.
An enjoyable tour includes the careful planning of the same. Please inform yourself in advance at the local information center about the route and weather conditions. Depending on the season and weather conditions, this route may be blocked or interrupted
