The mountain settlement of Odro is definitely several hundred years old. In summer walkers and lovers of good food can have something to eat and drink here and even spend the night on the alp – an example of ecologically sustainable tourism.
You can also go on a tour to find out about local culture and visit the little museum, where you can learn something of the work of the people of the valley in earlier times, especially haymaking. In the Verzasca valley, where there is hardly any pastureland for livestock in the valley, the grassland high up on the mountain-sides was essential for farmers' survival.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
