Nepal-style trekking...over a 90-meter long and 64-cenimeter wide hanging bridge by Salbitschijen, which unites the two Salbit and Voralp (pre-Alp) SAC mountain huts. Talk is of a an unbelievably spectacular mountain trail at 2380-meter altitude, amid the wild and rugged scenery of the towering Salbitschijen granite rocks, together with views of the Dammakette glacial world and Sustenhorn. You can’t get much closer to that thrilling Himalayan-bridge feeling than this ... unless of course you’re there!

The mountain tour from the parking place/PostBus stop to the Salbit Hut - Hanging Bridge - Voralp Hut takes around 5.5 hours and is recommended solely for well-practised mountain hikers. It is advisable to spend the night in one of the two SAC Voralp and Salbit alpine huts. Furthermore, we also advise you to rent a climbing safety belt, as this is very demanding tour (available for rent at both the Voralp and Salbit alpine huts).

The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
