In Niederried there are various hiking possibilities to be chosen from. You can take the path leading upwards to the ruins of Schadenburg, where you will have fantastic vantage points for views. From the ruins of Schadenburg there is a path leading down to Ringgenberg. After the church a very beautiful path leads along the shore to the gates of Interlaken. You will cross Aarekanal (Aare canal) on a steel railway bridge. On the other side the last lap of the journey takes you along the dam to Interlaken train station.
