The approximately 700-meter climb in altitude requires a pretty good level of fitness and certainly being foot-sure to top it! Once at the top all efforts are duly rewarded with fantastic views of both the Bernese and Valais Alps. The way back down is again via Alp Salzmatt. From here you head for the valley station of Kaiseregg mountain rail and finally back down to your starting point by Lake Schwarz.
