La Combaz - Chasseron - Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses
Then, with a full belly, you can set off. The path goes up and down, up and down to the foot of the Chasseron. Then a long climb - firstly through woodland and then across typical Jura meadows - takes you up to the rocky promontory of the summit of the Chasserons. From up there, there is a vast panorama. After climbing a second peak, you then begin the steep descent to Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses.
The station in Couvet is an ideal starting point for this walk. From there, you go up to La Combaz on the bus (note: the buses only run in summer and only on Saturdays and Sundays). The rest of the route is marked by the yellow and red signs of the Jura Mountain Trail. You just walk from La Combaz, always following for Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses, it's easy. From Sainte-Croix / Les Rasses you can go by bus to Fleurier and from there by bus back to Couvet.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
