Gurnigel Wasserscheide - Leiterenpass - Obere Walalp - Stockhorn
The first part of the route leads quite steeply up to the Leiterenpass. After crossing the pass, it follows the slope of the mountain on the other side towards the Stockhorn. Here and there you catch a glimpse of the almost vertical summit. After the Obere Walalp a path leads up to a peak from where there is a vast panorama of Lake Thun. On the other side, your gaze is drawn upwards to the mighty rocky dome of the Stockhorn. Then the path continues steeply, no, very steeply round the right-hand side of the rocks up to the very summit. The tricky section along the north face of the Stockhorn will give you a real kick of adrenalin, but the route is never dangerous. Your reward will be the unique 360 degree view from the 2,190 m high Stockhorn.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
