The highland hike way above the Bleniotal valley runs along the ridge between the Leventina and side valley. Already at the Pian Nara start hikers are amazed at the fantastic views over the broad Valle di Blenio valley and highly rising Adula group.
Along the eastern flank of the Pizzo Erra, Pianca Bella and Matro, hikers now move towards the sun and mouth of the valley. The highland path runs in a gentle descent (with a few uphill sections) over the Alpe del Gualdo and Monte Püscett to Sosto, and from here to Pozzo di Fuori – with sections through alpine meadows interspersed by attractive woodland stretches.
The hardest part of the tour commences in Mürisc, with a steep 1200-meter drop in altitude as you make your way down to the foot of the valley. The path commences in rocky terrain, followed by numerous bends through the forest and in part somewhat tricky country to Gramiröi and finally to Biasca.
The careful planning of a tour will ensure that you also derive the maximum pleasure and enjoyment from it. Please take the time to contact the local information centre and enquire about route and weather conditions before setting off. Your intended trail may be fully or partially closed, depending on the time of year and weather conditions.
