Begin the hike at Rigi-Kaltbad and hike West towards Chänzeli. From here, you will have a fantastic view onto Lake Luzern and the city of Luzern, framed by Mt. Pilatus. Queen Victoria of England praised the spectacular all-round view when she came here in 1868.
Follow the ridge to the peak of the mountain, also known as Rigi-Kulm. From Rigi-Staffel onwards, the route is parallel to the train tracks of the two cogwheel trains that ascend from Vitznau respectively Goldau.
