Lakes, brooks and aqueducts in Val Lavizzara

Val Lavizzara

High up in the Maggia Valley you will find Val Lavizzara. And above the Lavizzara Valley the mountain village of Fusio hugs the steep face of the mountains above the Maggia River. The architecture of the village points to various influences: stone houses like in the south, wooden barns like in Central Switzerland. The hike up to Lago di Mognola is very interesting as regards culture and landscape. You will come across sparse mountain forests, cascading waterfalls, lush vegetation, wonderful resting places and traces of ancient water conduits made from stone. All this defines the landscape at Alp Canà.
