Grindelwald Museum
Overview
Intro
When around 150 years ago the first winter sports fans made their way to Switzerland, this marked the beginning of skiing tourism in a number of places - including Grindelwald.
The exhibition in the local Grindelwald museum extends over three floors showing rural farming, mountaineering and the history of the Eiger north face, winter sports, vehicles and other topics.
Among other things, visitors discover who produced the first skis in Grindelwald and who exactly was the first skier in the Eiger village. With a new electronic guide history is presented live - and for a couple of hours you are catapulted back to the "good old days" and the pioneering shoes of skiing in Grindelwald in a brand new way.
