The construction of the Church began at the end of the 12th century and was completed in 1276. Facing the gates of the Château, the three apses are striking by the beauty of their Roman design. Only the south clock tower is ancient, the spire and the north tower being built in 1869.

I’m amazed time and again about the wonderful architectural heritage that can be found in the town centre’s narrow lanes and wide boulevards. The vestiges of the past turn even a simple stroll into a great adventure. You shouldn’t miss the short climb up to the Collégiale, the 12th-century cathedral that is Neuchâtel’s most famous landmark.
