During the carnival, when everything is upside down, the town of Solothurn is transformed into Honolulu. The reason is that somebody once jokingly said that when you look at a globe, Solothurn is exactly opposite of Hawaii and the idea has stuck to this day.

Ash Wednesday, 10 February 2016: 8 p.m. burning of the Böögg
