Description

The Moosalp region is renowned as a family-friendly ski area. Away from the crowded slopes of the larger winter destinations, it is small enough to have a personal and friendly atmosphere. Drink in the peace and quiet on the winter hiking trail from Törbel to Bürchen. Appropriately named the "panorama terrace", this route affords magnificent views of the four thousand metre high peaks by the Matter and Saas Valleys, the peaks of the Aletsch region and of the Bietschhorn. Take the post bus from Visp or Stalden to the starting point at Törbel/Furen. Densely clustered sun-drenched wooden houses mark the townscape. The cleared trail rises gently as it crosses snowy meadows to the hamlet of Hostettu and then runs through open forest to the Alp Diepja above Zeneggen. From here, cross the Obere Hellela to the post bus stop Bürchen/Ronalp, the end of the hike. Or you can extend your walk via Unterbäch/Brand to Eischoll/Strygge.
