Intro
The Swiss Woodcarving Museum is the only museum in Switzerland dedicated exclusively to woodcarving.
The Swiss Woodcarving Museum is the only museum in Switzerland dedicated exclusively to woodcarving. It researches and present objects that document the history of this craft from the beginnings to the present. A permanent exhibition of works from the various epochs of woodcarving highlights the great importance of Brienz as the center of this craft.
In conjunction with special exhibits of works from other regions of Switzetrland, the museum takes visitors on a journey through a sizeable part of Swiss cultural, economic and tourism history.
Visitors can look over the carvers’ shoulders and try their hand at this art.
