Built in 1860, the hotel is situated between Vers L'Eglise and les Diablerets on the old pass road leading up to the Col du Pillon. As the last grand hotel dating from this era, its facade is now a protected historical monument. The hotel was beautifully restored in 2007.

The hotel stemming from the year 1860 was originally constructed for English gentry, underway on glacial journeys of discovery. It remains the last Grand Hotel from the era today, with protected facade. Following gentle and painstaking renovations, this history-steeped establishment was fondly fitted with antiques – and a room with fireplace, piano lounge and art collection lend additional charm to nostalgia.
