Intro

Procap (information office for barrier-free travel, formerly MIS) Travellers who are in a wheelchair or have other forms of impaired mobility may find the Procap website useful. Its main task is to collect information on barrier-free travel worldwide and make it available to all interested parties.

Procap is the Swiss-wide coordinator and contact organisation for various tourism projects and is committed to “inclusive tourism”. Part of its role involves publishing and updating the information on the Guests with Special Needs section of the Switzerland Tourism website.

Eurokey

Founded by CBF in Germany in 1986, introduced in Switzerland by ASKIO (now Agile) in 1996, and organised and maintained by Pro Infirmis since 2000, Eurokey is a means of protecting facilities such as public toilets, stair lifts, barriers and intercoms against vandalism, fouling and misuse. The facilities are only accessible to people in possession of a Eurokey. Eurokeys are available to people who can prove, through a personal interview or by submitting relevant documents, that they have a disability that requires the use of special disabled facilities (e.g. wheelchair users, people with restricted mobility, the blind). Eurokeys can be obtained from Pro Infirmis Schweiz (see link).

Special equipment

Do you require special equipment that you would rather not have to bring with you, or would you like to hire a wheelchair tractor or electric wheelchair in order to go hiking? The accompanying link will provide you with the information you need. https://www.eurokey.ch/
