The Grottoes of Réclère can be visited with a guide on an easily accessible small path.
For 1.5 km beautiful stalagmites and stalactites adorn the path, and the elegant Pagoda and Dome with their impressive dimensions leave the visitor with respect and admiration for what nature has created over thousands of years.
Next to the Grottos is the new Prehisto-Parc. This 2 km cultural and educational path takes you through a magnificent wood and demonstrates the evolution of life from the first fish, the dinosaurs, and other fantastic animals that have lived on our planet, to comparatively recent mammals.
How to get there:
By car: from Porrentury, follow signs for Besancon, then tourist signs for "Grottes de Reclere / Prehisto-Parc".
Using public transport from Porrentury:
1. Post bus to Reclere, followed by a 2 km walk to the tourist site.
2. Publicar will take you straight to the site (call 0800 55 30 00 for information).
Opening hours:
From 29th March to 1st December: every day from 10.00 to 12.00 and 1.30 to 5.30, including Sundays. Reduced opening hours in April, May, October and November: please call for an appointment. Open to groups all the year round on request.

The Réclère Grottos were discovered in 1886 and immediately made such an impression on the first visitors that the caves were being used as a tourist attraction from 1890!
