This hotel received a special award in 2004 "for the landmark preservation of a traditional country inn".
Ruggisberg Inn was built in 1893 on the site where a farmhouse once stood. The inn includes two traditional parlors on the ground floor, a hall on the second floor and an enlarged barn. The terrace with its remarkable all-round panoramic view of Lake Constance and the Säntis mountain range is one of its main attractions.

The inn was completely renovated in 1989 and 1990. In the process the barn was also restored - it was in fact enlarged to offer more space with a rustic ambiance. The dining hall still has the original buffets and wooden chairs and there is cast iron garden furniture on the terrace. The kitchen was modernized, but is still small, and it is surprising how such a small kitchen can produce such extraordinary high-quality cuisine. The entire complex, including the inn, the barn, and the estate as well as the meadow with its trees, has retained its original character, and thus offers the visitor a unique experience.
