Poschiavo GR

Standing on the picturesque main square of Poschiavo, the Hotel Albrici was originally built in 1682 as a patrician house. Conversion into a hotel required certain structural changes, but the beautiful decoration of the palazzo has been maintained – including stucco and plasterwork, flowers, figures and numerous portraits.
Special distinction 1998

Distinguished "for the diligent care of the Sybillen hall from the 17th century and the conservative restoration of the building.»

The Masella dynasty constructed this stately manor in the village square of Poschiavo in 1682. In 1848, the estate was sold to Podestà Pietro Albrici and remained in the possession of his successors to this very day. Together with the church, the hotel is the most important building in the village square. Inside, there are several significant halls, a hall-like vaulted corridor, and the Saletta on the ground floor, as well as the paneled hall on the first floor. In the 1990es, the owners undertook some renovations in close collaboration with the protection of historic monuments. The work was terminated with the renewal of the façade in 1996 and the whole intervention has greatly improved the appearance of the Poschiavo village square.
